341 Meeting of creditors (applies to both chapters) - You will receive a letter stating the date and time you must attend this meeting. An attorney from our office will be there to represent you. At this meeting, the Trustee will go over your case to make sure everything is correct and that there are no errors or omissions.
The meeting will be held at the U.S. Bankruptcy Courthouse, 511 E. San Antonio Ave., El Paso Room #1044, El Paso, TX 79901. Please see map below. For this meeting you will need the following:
- Social security card and picture ID (originals only no photocopies)
- 2 latest paycheck stubs - Chapter 13 cases only
- 2 most recent bank statements (from each bank account you may have) - Chapter 7 only
Financial Management Class - This certificate is important for you to receive your discharge once your bankruptcy case is completed. You can complete the course online or over the phone, please note the agencies may have a different fee for their phone service. Please consult with them to find out the fees.
If you filed a Chapter 13 case you can attend a FREE class on Saturdays which is offered by the Chapter 13 trustee's office.
Chapter 13 cases - If you filed under the protection of the Chapter 13 we want to remind you that your 1st payment is due 30 days after the date your case was filed. ALWAYS SAVE YOUR PROOF OF PAYMENTS. To make your payment you have the following options:
Send cashier's check or money order ONLY to "Stuart C. Cox, Chapter 13 Trustee, P.O. Box 210, Memphis, TN 38101-0210. You should have received an envelope to send your first payment with the trustee's information. Be sure to send the payment a few days before the due date to make sure it arrives on time. Also be sure yo put your case number on the cashier's check or money order.
